Statement from Vaughan Gething, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Services

It’s been a long time coming….But we are absolutely thrilled to announce that Welsh Government has finally released its statement on endometriosis.

FTWW’s report ‘Making the Case for Better Endometriosis Care in Wales’ prompted the Chief Executive of the NHS in Wales to establish a Task and Finish group to review endometriosis services. As many of you may know already, FTWW was invited to represent patients on the group, and our CEO was instrumental in putting together its final report, along with Mr Richard Penketh, the group’s Chair and Cardiff’s Lead Endometriosis Specialist.

We look forward to working with the Women’s Health Implementation group on delivering the recommendations. This will be the start of changing the narrative of this disease in Wales, and vastly improving the lives / experiences of those girls, women – and their families – affected.
